  • Computer Associates International has changed the ftp server address.
  • Not Only have they changed the FTP site but have a made a few modifications to the way the information is returned
    •    So you will have to get either the Executable only or re-download the complete package else you will get ERROR 13.
  • Their new FTP address is ftpav.ca.com
  • BUT DO NOT USE IT - THEY HAVE NOT MOVED THE NETWARE STUFF (IL0080.ZIP) OVER TO THE NEW FTP SITE YET.

A few new things have happened since July 2000.

As of December 2000 we have created a new Anti-Viral Update utility that does not required Netware from Novell. It is called AVCLIENT & AVSERVER. These 2 programs can be found here.

I have dropped Tripod and Videotron and Angelfire Home pages and decided to open my own server. It running off a:

Win 2000 Server with 2 500 mhz CPU's, 256 Megs of memory and a 10 giga UDMA 66 mhz hard disk.

With the help of www.dyndns.org and www.directnic.com you are redirected here. Using ADSL for my internet connection

The ADSL sucks a bit since every time you reboot it changes the IP address. So by doing this I have to update www.dyndns.org IP redirector also. I use BALIDDNS and BALISERVER both can be downloaded from www.baliciel.com which keeps my IP address up to date at dnydns.org.

Another handy set of programs and instruction to make any non GUI displaying program into an NT service can be found at http://vbwire.com/advanced/howto/service.asp . BALISERVICE can also take several programs (NON GUI DISPLAYING ONES) into a NT service also.
