NOTE : As of version
3.0.21 there is a new OCX for SMTP transfer. Either take the complete
version or download OCX's/DLL's
NOTE:
(October 19 2001)
- eTrust InoculateIT is
now working. The UPDV6.EXE is included in the complete package.
- It can also be run separately
if you are using a different program to get the files.
- You may now as of November
first 2001 , version 3.0.5 can download both signature updates for
v4.5x and 6.x
NOTE:
(October 17 2001)
The update for
V6 files will be available soon.
- You must be consistent
with your directory naming conventions.
- All servers will have
to have the same structure
- SYS:\INOCULAN\DOWNLOAD\95\ETRUSTV6
-
...\W9X
-
...\NT2K
- Special
note for ETrust directory structure
- IT
MUST BE DERIVED FROM WHERE THE WIN9X SIGNATURE FILES ARE DOWNLOAD
TO.
Or whatever
you want to use as long as all the servers are the same.
This will replace
AVUPDATE.EXE. This will only work in a pure eTrust InoculateIT V6x
environment.
You may not combine
it with Inoculan v4x clients.
If you wish
to do so then you will need either 2 different login containers
(Context's)
Or 2 different
login servers.
This
version will expire March 01
2003.
There has been several improvements
over version 2x.
- Extremely fine control
over the servers
- Inoculan Server Directory
- Inoculan Client Directory
- Server System Directory
- Login Name and Password
- TREE and CONTEXT
- FTP NOOP timeout for the
FAST connections
- FTP slow connection, will
disconnect and re-connect per groups of downloads
- Minimized the FTP change
directory
Add but not finished
the possibility to update Inoculan V6 (coming sooner then I
thought)
- Streamlined Server setup
- Registry Driven instead
of INI file driven
- On startup it will authenticate
to all configured servers
- If they are not found
they are removed from the Update process for the current session
Download of Inoculan
4.x or eTrust InoculateIT V6x (not completely finished [see NOTE])
- Download of Inoculan 4.x
or eTrust InoculateIT V6x is completely supported [see NOTE2]
- Temporary Network drive
and directory selection simplified.
etc...
Installation:
During the installation process
it will automatically register itself with a TEMP license so you may
use the configuration at any time. This temp license expires on March first 2003.
Since an update to the
Active Template Library (ATL) is performed you might have to reboot
at the end of the installation process. Not all computers have the older
version, but .... It is a different version for the Windows 9x / Windows
NT-2K and will be detected during the setup.
At this time it
is not part of the AUTO UPDATE program that keeps you up to date on
the latest releases. When this becomes available you will received it
by email.
The documentation
at this time sucks, I have not gotten around to completing it and it
is sparse at best.
First time you run
Inoculan Update v3 it will request that you setup your servers. By clicking
on BROWSE FOR SERVERS button you will be presented with a new menu.
Click on the REFRESH button and a search for all the servers will be
done on the local LAN (wired LAN).
Keep tuned to this
page for more update as they become available.
- If you are having
a spot of trouble, please include the registry statements, they can
be found at
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Inoculan
Update 3
- Click on
it, the click on File/Export, it will then export all your settings
with all the sub keys.
- Remember, changing
stuff with out having the full details can mess things up for IUBETAV3!
- OR you may go to the
Support page. More details on what is needed to diagnose your
problem can be found.
